Wednesday, April 17, 2019 Bernie’s Millionaire Status and Town Hall “U.S. Democratic presidential contender Bernie Sanders released 10 years of tax returns on Monday, providing details of his growing status as a millionaire fueled by a sharp jump in income from book royalties since his losing 2016 White House run.” Reuters Sanders “sat down with Fox News’ Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum on Monday night at a town hall in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania” and penned an op-ed arguing for “an economy and government that works for all, not just the 1 percent.” Fox News From the Left The left argues that Bernie’s millionaire status does not change the potency of his ideas and policy proposals, and considers the town hall a success. “There is no socialist in America who will ever escape charges of hypocrisy… |
[but]
Sanders’s complaint isn’t that millionaires exist per se.
After all, if America’s household wealth were distributed evenly across
the population, then every family of four would have a net worth of
$1.2 million. Sanders’s critique is that the United States’ super-rich
are symptomatic of a system that churns out a small class of extremely wealthy people who rule over the vast remainder…
“Key to Sanders’s argument against the accumulation of wealth in the
hands of a small elite is that their largesse allows them to wield
disproportionate, anti-democratic political power by funding campaigns
and lobbying politicians; seeing as Sanders’s campaign is funded
strictly by small donors and he is not a lobbyist himself, it would seem
that his having made more than 1 million dollars in a year doesn’t
exactly run afoul of that critique.”
Elizabeth Bruenig, Washington Post
“What matters here is the method by which politicians and ex-politicians capitalize on [their] fame.
For instance, the usual buckraking speech tour of big Wall Street banks
that ex-politicians routinely carry out is objectionable because of
corruption. Do bankers really care about hearing some probably
platitudinous 40-minute speech? No, they are paying for access to
potential future senators and presidents… There is something peculiar in
the notion that only personally impoverished people can hold leftist
views… The effect is to foreclose any realistic leftist politics, since
poor people have zero political power — and as we have seen, anyone who
becomes a national figure becomes rich almost automatically.”
Ryan Cooper, The Week
Minority view: “I think he’s probably not a hypocrite,
because I think he is probably quite genuinely one of those socialists
who doesn’t really believe in ‘charity.’ This tendency in socialist
thinking goes back a long way, including Oscar Wilde’s famous criticism
of charity on the grounds that it is ‘immoral to use private property in
order to alleviate the horrible evils that result from the institution
of private property.’ I don’t buy this though, for a very simple reason:
When you have millions of dollars, you could immediately better the condition of a great number of people, and are choosing not to…
“We know that Bernie Sanders thinks he has too much money. We know this
because he thinks it should be taxed away from him. But if it should be
taken away from him by taxation, meaning that he shouldn’t have it in
the first place, why would he keep it at the moment?… Why should our
behavior be guided by what the law happens to be rather than by what we
think is right?”
Nathan J. Robinson, Current Affairs
Regarding the Fox News town hall, “it was a resounding success, and a reminder that Bernie, not Trump, can actually rally together a majority of Americans…
Though he often attacked Trump, he did more than that, offering dreams,
ambitions, and real policy for a working class that has seen its wages
and living standards stagnant for decades to aspire to. He didn’t
mention Russia once; he focused on the issues that he could discuss with
the most clarity. This is the type of formula that can win an election,
that can counter Trump’s dangerous right-populism, that can unite those
struggling for a better life across the country.”
Bhaskar Sunkara, The Guardian
From the Right
The
right argues that it is hypocritical for Bernie to attack the rich
given his wealth, and applauds his decision to appear on Fox.
Bernie
“leads a movement that believes rich people shouldn’t hoard money that
could be given to the state to help the poor. He knew reconciling his
personal net worth with the principles of that movement would be an
issue if he ran for president again. There are things he could have done to defuse the issue
— given the money to charity or to the Treasury, invested it in
‘progressive’ causes or companies, plowed it into his own campaign… His
preferred justification instead, essentially, is ‘Sorry for being
successful.’” Allahpundit, Hot Air “Other millionaires and billionaires can explain their riches like Bernie does. ‘I started a website that sold books, and now we sell everything.’ ‘I invented a way to search the internet with ease and accuracy.’ ‘I invested in companies and helped them grow.’ ‘I run a pharmaceutical company that cures diseases and produces medication so sick people can live better lives.’ Bernie’s book-writing, in other words, isn’t any nobler than the paths taken by other millionaires… [Rich liberals’] opinions shouldn’t be discounted just because they are rich, to be sure, but the fact that they don’t walk the walk should give their fans pause. Capitalism is a powerful engine for social mobility, and prosperous capitalists like Bernie Sanders should have the courage to say so.” Karol Markowicz, New York Post “A 2015 study by sociologists at Cornell and Washington University in St. Louis of 44 years of income data found that about 12% of the U.S. population will rank in the top 1% for at least one year; 39% in the top 5% for at least a year; 56% in the top 10%; and 73% in the top 20%. At the same time only about 0.6% of people will stay in the top 1% for 10 consecutive years…Judging by their tax returns, most Democrats running for President have done well for themselves. Good for them. So why do they want to make it harder for others to achieve the same level of prosperity and take away more of their wealth if these Americans succeed?” Editorial Board, Wall Street Journal Regarding the Fox News town hall, “Sanders is smart to cross the media aisle… his appearance on Fox distinguishes him from other Democrats and particularly from Hillary Clinton. Many Republicans who watch Fox News and consume populist media can get the distinct impression that Democrats are just waiting for them to die. That was what was so damaging about Hillary Clinton’s ‘basket of deplorables’ comment and her implication that Trump supporters will have no place in defining American life going forward. Sanders believes in his message so much, he wants to pitch it to you just before you settle in for Tucker Carlson Tonight. That’s to his credit.” Michael Brendan Dougherty, National Review Yet many point out that “it doesn’t really tell us much that a room half full of Democratic voters and Bernie supporters prefer some imaginary, aspirational future where the government pays for health care and there are minimal problems, as opposed to the warts-and-all reality of what we have now… [but] in the end, Sanders doesn’t have a health care plan, so much as a branding strategy for one. Medicare, despite its fiscal unsustainability, is very popular. So calling government-run health care ‘Medicare for all’ is a stroke of genius, insofar as it makes the American public more receptive to socialist ideas.” Mark Hemingway, The Federalist |
A libertarian’s take
“[Bernie]
stepped into one of the more significant filter bubbles that divide red
from blue America. He was decent in his manner, pleading for comity,
embracing universalist rather than identitarian language, decrying
racial injustice and anti-Muslim demagoguery, and mincing no words in
correctly labeling Trump a pathological liar. His strengths outshone his
flaws in front of a TV audience that many Democrats have a hard time
reaching, having written it off as deplorable, if not irredeemable. He
showed other Democratic candidates the way forward and warmed up the Fox
audience to left-wing ideas. For having a constructive discussion despite their significant differences, Sanders and Fox deserve congratulations and that highest form of flattery: imitation.” Conor Friedersdorf, The Atlantic On the bright side… ‘Lemoga’: Lake District hotel offers yoga with lemurs as partners. POLITICO Playbook: Buttigieg storms Iowa, shrugs off hecklers
By ANNA PALMER, JAKE SHERMAN and DANIEL LIPPMAN
04/17/2019 05:54 AM EDT
Presented by
DRIVING THE DAY
ON THE TRAIL … NATASHA KORECKI in Iowa: BUTTIGIEG SHRUGS OFF ANTI-GAY HECKLERS: “South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg swept into Iowa on Tuesday, drawing some of the biggest crowds of the 2020 race so far in the first-in-the-nation caucus state. He faced anti-gay hecklers at two events, including in Des Moines where a man in the crowd shouted ‘remember Sodom and Gomorrah!’ just after Buttigieg talked about marrying his husband, Chasten, who attended the event.
“The man kept shouting but the crowd chants of ‘Pete! Pete!’ drowned him out. Buttigieg calmly looked on as security escorted away the individual. ‘The good news is, the condition of my soul is in the hands of God, but the Iowa caucuses are up to you,’ Buttigieg said to laughter and cheers.
“In all, three hecklers over two Iowa events were taken away and each time Buttigieg unflinchingly carried on after cracking a joke or commenting on freedom of expression. A campaign aide said it was the first time the mayor faced such security incidents since touring nationally.” Video
— BUTTIGIEG EDGE: “Two days after officially entering the presidential race, Buttigieg was expecting 50 people at a Polk County meet and greet. As RSVPs rolled in, organizers moved it from a small gym at Franklin Junior High to the large gym, to an auditorium and finally moving it outside. A good thing: a stunning 1,650 people showed up in the end.
“It isn’t just the number of people that stands out: Buttigieg has yet to staff up with organizers in Iowa, so this turnout was mostly organic. Buttigieg spoke to a progressive Iowa group in December and has visited the earlier this year but this crowd was exponentially larger.”
— MEANWHILE … “On the other side of town, SEN. CORY BOOKER (D-N.J.) was meeting with the Iowa Black Caucus, capping a tour through the state. The night before, he hosted a Sioux City town hall, before about 100 people. When it wound down, the New Jersey Democrat, having spotted a supporter wearing a Queen T-shirt, took her and her friends aside and called up on her phone a video of Axl Rose and Elton John performing ‘Bohemian Rhapsody,’ at times singing along.”
— CNN’S MANU RAJU and TED BARRETT: “Trump’s GOP critics in Senate mum on Weld 2020 bid”
Happy Wednesday. JAKE and ANNA will be on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” tonight on CBS, where they will talk about politics and their new book “The Hill to Die On.” Order here
IMMIGRATION LATEST … NYT’S MIKE SHEAR and KATIE BENNER: “In New Effort to Deter Migrants, Barr Withholds Bail to Asylum Seekers”: “The Trump administration on Tuesday took another significant step to discourage migrants from seeking asylum, issuing an order that could keep thousands of them in jail indefinitely while they wait for a resolution of their asylum requests.
“The order issued by Attorney General William P. Barr was an effort to deliver on President Trump’s promise to end the ‘catch and release’ of migrants crossing the border in hopes of escaping persecution in their home countries.
“The order — which directs immigration judges to deny some migrants a chance to post bail — will not go into effect for 90 days. It is all but certain to be challenged in federal court, but immigrant rights lawyers said it could undermine the basic rights of people seeking safety in the United States.” NYT
— LAT: “California hits back as Trump threatens to ‘dump’ immigrants in ‘sanctuary cities”: With a Gavin Newsom interview
LESS THAN 24 HOURS after we wondered if he was bored with the 2020 field … the president (@realDonaldTrump) last night: “I believe it will be Crazy Bernie Sanders vs. Sleepy Joe Biden as the two finalists to run against maybe the best Economy in the history of our Country (and MANY other great things)! I look forward to facing whoever it may be. May God Rest Their Soul!”
— HUH? “May God Rest Their Soul?”
— NYT’S KATIE ROGERS and MAGGIE HABERMAN — White House Memo on A15: “This Just In! Waiting for Mueller, Trump Passes Time Commenting on the News”
THE INVESTIGATIONS … ANDREW DESIDERIO and KYLE CHENEY: “Mueller looms over Dem investigations”: “After three months in power, House Democrats have finally hit their investigative stride. They’ve teed up invasive probes of President Donald Trump’s finances, uncorked subpoenas, and set the stage for court battles that could consume Washington through the 2020 election.
“But everything could change Thursday when Attorney General William Barr releases a redacted version of special counsel Robert Mueller’s long-anticipated report on the Trump campaign’s links to Russia. Mueller’s findings — and whether they’re damning, benign or too heavily redacted to understand — are certain to be a major factor guiding the direction of Democrats’ probes.” POLITICO
— DARREN SAMUELSOHN and JOSH GERSTEIN in POLITICO: “Mueller’s ‘13 Angry Democrats’: Where are they now?”
NOLAN MCCASKILL on the POLITICO/MORNING CONSULT POLL: “Poll: Nearly 4-in-10 voters believe Trump’s campaign was spied on”
A message from JUUL Labs:
YOUTH VAPING IS A PROBLEM. HERE’S WHAT WE’RE DOING ABOUT IT:
MAYBE HE SHOULD’VE FOCUSED ON SAVING THE HOUSE! … “Trump moves to resist House inquiries, setting up fight over congressional subpoena powers,” by WaPo’s Tom Hamburger, Karoun Demirjian, John Dawsey and Rachael Bade:“The administration does not plan to turn over information being sought about how particular individuals received their security clearances, Trump’s meetings with foreign leaders and other topics that they plan to argue are subject to executive privilege, according to several aides familiar with internal discussions.” WaPo
CASH DASH — “Freshman Democrats rake in cash to protect the House,” by Laura Barrón-López and Sarah Ferris: “The most vulnerable House Democrats are off to a fast start defending their seats — and their party’s fragile new majority. Nearly three-dozen Democratic freshmen in battleground districts raised more than $300,000 for their campaigns in the first three months of 2019 — a barometer of early momentum in the seats that could determine control of the chamber in the 2020 election.
“Competing with a crowded Democratic presidential field and higher-profile Senate races, the new class of Democrats responsible for flipping control of the House have fought to sustain the torrent of campaign cash, much of it from small donors, that allowed candidates to outspend GOP incumbents in most of the contested House races last year. Now, as incumbents themselves, the eye-popping numbers could help fend off GOP challengers as Democrats attempt to hold their majority while waging war with President Donald Trump on multiple fronts.” POLITICO

2020 WATCH — CHRIS CADELAGO and ALEX THOMPSON: “Warren bets big on mega-campaign”: “As Elizabeth Warren’s campaign developed its organizing strategy this winter, it spent big to bring on a whopping 161 staffers — nearly twice as many as her closest rival in the Democratic presidential primary.
“The early hiring spree, which cost Warren’s campaign nearly $1.2 million in salary plus more on related expenses, amounts to a big bet on what it will take to win the 2020 presidential race. The buildup had Warren spending money almost as fast as she raised at a time of year when presidential campaigns traditionally hoard their cash, according to new campaign finance filings.
“But the decision sheds new light on the priorities and strategy behind Warren’s campaign, which believes organization in the early-voting states could make the difference next year.” POLITICO

AOC’S MYSTERY BOOK — “Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) … was recently in talks to write a book … Multiple publishing industry sources told The Daily Beast that the freshman Democrat retained the talent agency CAA and took meetings earlier this year about writing a potential book. The project, one industry source said, was ultimately pulled, but for reasons that remain mysterious.” The Daily Beast

TRUMP AND THE WORLD … ELIANA JOHNSON: “Japanese leader plans grueling D.C. dash for Trump face time”: “When Japan enthrones a new emperor on May 1, the country’s prime minister, Shinzo Abe, might be feeling a little jet lagged. Just four days before one of his nation’s most important ceremonial events in a generation, akin to the election of a new Pope in Rome, Abe plans to jet around the world and back for a vital mission: maintaining his relationship with President Donald Trump.
“Abe’s 36-hour trip to a foreign capital 6,700 miles away — he tentatively plans to join First Lady Melania Trump’s 49th birthday celebrations on Friday, April 26, and golf with Trump himself the next day, according to two sources familiar with his plans — underscores the extraordinary lengths he has gone to cultivate the U.S. president.” POLITICO
— VETO NO. 2: “President Donald Trump on Tuesday vetoed a bipartisan measure to cut off U.S. support for the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen’s civil war, calling it ‘an unnecessary, dangerous attempt to weaken my constitutional authorities.’” POLITICO
— FOR YOUR RADAR … BLOOMBERG: “High on the list of President Donald Trump’s priorities as he tries to close a trade deal with counterpart Xi Jinping is making sure China faces consequences if it doesn’t live up to its promises. Yet in pursuing that goal Trump may also be giving China a new cudgel to use on American companies and striking another blow to the international rule of law.
“Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin has said the U.S. has made its own commitments to China and agreed that both sides will be subject to an enforcement mechanism. ‘This will be a two-way agreement in enforcement,’ Mnuchin said Monday, after saying over the weekend that the U.S. would be open to ‘certain repercussions.’ …
“If the U.S. allows China reciprocal enforcement powers, it would make China ‘judge, jury and executioner as to whether we have honored our obligations,’ said Daniel Price, who served as a senior economic adviser to President George W. Bush and is now at Rock Creek Global Advisors in Washington.” Bloomberg

MEDIAWATCH — Many Democrats weren’t happy with Bernie Sanders’ decision to hold a town hall on Fox News, but it was a smash hit in the ratings: 2.55 million people watched Sanders on Monday, per Nielsen. That’s the most of any Democrat so far on any network — the previous high for any candidate was Kamala Harris, who drew 1.95 million viewers for her CNN town hall in January.
No wonder other candidates, including Pete Buttigieg, are considering holding Fox town halls of their own, per CNN.
— @realDonaldTrump with some media criticism: “Many Trump Fans & Signs were outside of the @FoxNews Studio last night in the now thriving (Thank you President Trump) Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, for the interview with Crazy Bernie Sanders. Big complaints about not being let in-stuffed with Bernie supporters. What’s with @FoxNews?”
— AHEM: “Fox reached out to various political and local groups in the area and mined requests to attend after it publicly announced the event.” The Morning Call (via Brian Stelter)
— NEERA TANDEN’S MOM is firing back at the NYT, which interviewed her for a Tuesday story about the feud between the Center for American Progress chief and the Bernie Sanders campaign. The piece, by Liz Williamson and Ken Vogel, caught some flak from Tanden’s allies on Twitter.
Maya Tanden: “As a 78-year-old immigrant, I am so proud of my daughter for succeeding. … For the first time in my life, a reporter contacted me out of nowhere and said she wanted to talked to me for what I thought was a nice story about Neera. I didn’t understand my words would be used in the story and once I understood they could be, I called her back to clarify that. Only then did she tell me my words were ‘on the record,’ a term I’ve never heard before. I feel very misled.”
Brian Fallon (@brianefallon): “The NYT story on Neera Tanden should never have brought her mom into it. And whether you agree with Neera’s views or not, her aggressiveness is one of her biggest strengths and would be lionized if she were a man.”
We asked Williamson for a response, and got this from an NYT spox: “Our story focuses on ideological divisions in the Democratic party and the Center for American Progress, a think tank/political organization with a $60 million combined budget. The story provides an in-depth look at the center’s president, Neera Tanden. It includes accurate, on-the-record comments by Maya Tanden, Neera Tanden’s mother. Maya Tanden is knowledgeable about Democratic politics and her daughter’s career, and has been active in local Democratic politics.”
— THE LIBERAL MURDOCH … FT: “James Murdoch is set to invest about $1bn from the proceeds of the sale of his stake in 21st Century Fox to assemble a new portfolio of media companies that could include a liberal-leaning news outlet, according to people close to the billionaire investor. …
“People with direct knowledge of his plans said James Murdoch wanted to distance himself from the conservative media outlets controlled for decades by his father but had yet to decide how exactly he would invest in the news media.
“His options range from a liberal news website to a digital magazine focused on culture, society and lifestyle, they said, adding that no final decision had been taken as the new venture was at an early stage.” FT
— Nancy Gibbs, the former editor of Time, is the new faculty director of the Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School. Wednesday, April 17, 2019 Fallout From the Fire The devastating fire that consumed parts of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris on Monday has sparked a wave of global grief. While the investigation into what caused the fire is only beginning, French officials say it could be related to renovations the 850-year-old building was undergoing. As for the damage, the whole roof and the spire were destroyed. The choir and nave are damaged, but the iconic three rose windows and the two bell towers, are safe. Here’s a helpful picture depicting the damage: |
While some 5 to 10 percent of artwork was likely destroyed, a majority of the most important artifacts were saved. (Besides parts of the building, of course, which can be rebuilt, but never the same.) A French priest is being hailed as a hero for braving the fire to save the Blessed Sacrament and the Crown of Thorns, which is believed to be a remnant of the wreath of thorns placed on the head of Jesus Christ at his crucifixion. And that’s not the only good news. French companies including L’Oreal, LVMH and Kering have already pledged millions of euros in donations to help rebuild the historic landmark. Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, tweeted the tech giant would be donating, and others will likely follow. These donations, along with pledges from private billionaires, already exceed 600 million euros. And that’s just the start—French President Emmanuel Macron announced a plan to launch a national fundraising campaign, which will (hopefully) bring in donations from all over the world. “We will rebuild,” Macron told reporters. “We will rebuild Notre Dame because this is what the French expect, because this is what our history deserves, because it is our destiny.” Turns Out, Democrats Really Like White Men Well, this is awkward. Despite six Democrat women running for president in 2020, the top four candidates leading the polls are four …white men. Bernie, Biden, Buttigieg, and Beto, in that order. (What’s with all the B’s?) This would be hardly problematic if the party weren’t so obsessed with diversity and identity politics, but since they are, it’s curious why women in the race are lagging so far behind. On the Republican side, former Massachusetts Governor Bill Weld decided to jump into the race, “challenging” President Trump for the GOP nominee. (I put quotes around the word “challenging,” because FiveThirtyEight.com described Weld, a pro-abortion libertarian, as “one of the weakest candidates that anti-Trump Republicans could put up in a national campaign.” Moving on.) The Muller Report… Is coming! We’re just one day away. While most of you could hardly care, for reporters and Democrats, today is the political equivalent of Christmas Eve. Although we already know the findings, details in the report are bound to make a splash in some way. Here’s The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway on what to expect. And Because It’s Hump Day… Be careful when you crack your neck. Wisconsin man bet everything on Tiger, won big. Hoda adopts a second baby girl! And this story about a tiny, 11-ounce preemie makes you wonder how people can even consider abortion at this point. In case you needed another reason to love Mary Katharine Ham. Good morning,Twenty-three
percent (23%) of voters believe a person born as a male but identifying
as a female should be allowed to compete in women’s competitive sports
events. A ScottRasmussen.com national survey found that 56% disagree and 21% are not sure.Voters
under 35 are evenly divided on the question. Older voters do not
believe such athletes should be allowed to compete in women’s events.Sixty-three percent (63%) of all voters believe allowing such competition is unfair to athletes born
female. If it is allowed, 57% believe biological males would eventually come to dominate women’s sports. On a different topic, 50% of voters believe the federal government today is too powerful. Just 17% say it’s not powerful enough. The
fact that so few believe we need a more powerful federal government is
consistent with a wide range of other data. Voters, for example, see
climate change as a threat, but just 18% believe that threat makes it necessary to give the federal government sweeping new powers to control the economy. Most Americans also want something done to fix our health care system. However, just 17% favor eliminating private health insurance companies and requiring every American to use a government insurance program.Generally speaking, 73% think a too powerful government represents a bigger potential problem than a government that is too weak. Just 27% hold the opposite view.Perhaps
no other idea unifies the American people more than freedom.
Ninety-four percent (94%) of voters agree with a sentiment sometimes
defined as the American Creed: Every
American should have the right to live their own life as they see fit,
so long as they respect the rights of others to do the same. However,
only 53% believe that most Americans respect the right of other
people to live their own life as they see fit. Even more skepticism is
found about the federal government. Just 33% believe that it respects
the right of every American to live their own life as they see fit. The president’s job approval rating, updated weekdays at 5:00 p.m. Eastern, is 45%. The Generic Congressional Ballot, updated Tuesday through Saturday mornings at 6:00 a.m. Eastern, shows Democrats with a six-point advantage.Pete Buttigieg is now generating more social media support than any other Democratic presidential hopeful.
He is trailed by Bernie Sanders, Beto O’Rourke, Joe Biden, and
Elizabeth Warren. These results are updated daily at 4:30 a.m. Eastern.Thank you for your interest in our work,Scott

The President is right to veto war powers bill. Now he needs to pull support for the war in Yemen. Posted: 17 Apr 2019 05:41 AM PDT As seems to be the case with so many things associated with President Trump and foreign policy, he is both right and wrong about how to handle a particular military status. On one hand, he’s right to veto the bill passed by Congress that called for the U.S. to end support for Saudi Arabia’s war […] The post The President is right to veto war powers bill. Colion Noir: Exposing the under the table business of homelessness in San Francisco Posted: 17 Apr 2019 05:08 AM PDT Anyone who has walked the streets of San Francisco in the last few years was likely shocked. Unless they came from Seattle or a similar city in which homelessness and drug abuse are rampant on the downtown streets, it was likely a wake up call to anyone seeing how big the problems have become. For […] The post Colion Noir: Exposing the under the table business of homelessness in San Francisco appeared first on Conservative Christian News. |
President’s prediction of Biden or Sanders as his opponent is wishful thinking Posted: 17 Apr 2019 04:28 AM PDT Yesterday, President Trump Tweeted the names of the two candidates he believes will be battling it out head-to-head at the end of the Democratic nomination process. Both happen to be the early leaders in the polls. Both are also the idea candidates for the President to take on next November. I believe it will be […] The post President’s prediction of Biden or Sanders as his opponent is wishful thinking appeared first on Conservative Christian News. |
Dr. Qanta Ahmed: Representative Ilhan Omar is a disgrace to Islam Posted: 17 Apr 2019 04:02 AM PDT Ever since Representative Ilhan Omar disgraced herself and the nation by flippantly characterizing the terrorist attacks of 9/11, the defense she and her fellow Democrats have used is to paint her as the victim of Republican discrimination and bigotry. This defense gets tossed out the window when people like Dr. Qanta Ahmed condemns Omar for […] The post Dr. Qanta Ahmed: Representative Ilhan Omar is a disgrace to Islam appeared first on Conservative Christian News. |

Are you ready to end the insanity in 2020? Posted: 17 Apr 2019 03:00 AM PDT I’ve been focusing a lot lately on the 2020 election and how, unless something changes, we’re going to see another lesser-of-two-evils election between a Democrat and a Democrat with an “R” after his name. At least, that’s likely to be what the Unibrow establishment will try to force on us. As a person dedicated to […] The post Are you ready to end the insanity in 2020? appeared first on Conservative Christian News. |
Psalm 69:30-31 – ‘magnify him with thanksgiving’ Posted: 17 Apr 2019 01:04 AM PDT 30 I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.31 This also shall please the Lord better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hoofs. Psalm 69:30-31 (KJV) Throughout the Old Testament, we learn that the sacrifices prescribed to the nation of Israel in order to […] The post Psalm 69:30-31 – ‘magnify him with thanksgiving’ appeared first on Conservative Christian News. |
In times of toxicity Posted: 17 Apr 2019 12:53 AM PDT Identifying the Problem Agree to disagree! We don’t hear that much these days. Be prepared to be attacked personally by those you disagree with. Rhetorically for sure. Sometimes even physically. Whatever happened to the role of civil discourse in our society? When did everyone with a different opinion become an enemy? How did our culture […] The post In times of toxicity appeared first on Conservative Christian News. |
Reparations: Why the push now? Posted: 17 Apr 2019 12:38 AM PDT Democrat presidential candidates have launched the debate of reparations (back?) into prominence. The idea is that the government will compensate black people for the sins of slavery over a hundred years ago. There are no specifics in regards to rich black people, mixed people, or African-American immigrants. Nor is there a dollar amount specified. The […] The post Reparations: Why the push now? appeared first on Conservative Christian News. |

Eight months later, Blumenthal’s […] The post What happened to the wave of gun violence predicted by Democrats following release of 3D gun files? appeared first on Conservative Christian News. |
